"The view was wonderful of the ocean. We enjoyed the area. I have stayed at many beach locations and this unit was dull. The pictures on the website did not describe the unit accurately. We were interrupted by plumber because D1 unit showed wet spot on ceiling. Then 2 other times people came out to check out. The sliding glass door lock was broken. The carpet was dirty. The kitchen really needed to be updated. The stove was very old. The refrigerator froze the ice tea and food. No serving bowls. Small bedroom - tv didn't work. 2 outlets didn't work. One outlet sparked when cell phone was plugged in. Reported to Intracoastal. Electrician was called out. Food wrappers were found around the beds and dresser. Master bedroom - the king bed was the worst ever. Felt like you were sleeping on springs. The pillows were like pancakes. Hall bathroom - towel rack on door was about to fall off. The toilet kept clogging. The washer and dry were nice. The living room furniture was nice. I have never wrote such a negative review but the unit needs work to it."

"We were very happy with this condo. It has everything we needed, and the furniture was very comfortable compared to other condos we've stayed at in Carolina Beach. It was nice being able to sit on the balcony. We saw dolphins several days during the week we stayed. It was also nice having a shared private pool, which is relaxing after being in the waves of the ocean. We were very happy there was an outside shower to wash the sand off. We were extremely satisfied. The only negative was that the parking was really awkward. Nobody follows the assigned parking like they should. And the assigned spot for this particular condo is blocked in by someone else, so you have to call them if you want out. Make sure to write your cell phone number on your parking pass, like you're supposed to. Fortunately for us, this was not an issue. There are 3 unassigned parking spots on each side of the pool, and they are not blocked. They are first come first serve, though, so there was always the stress of there not being one available, and having to figure out what to do. But overall, we were extremely happy with this rental."
"Location of the property was perfect! Oceanview was amazing as was the pool. Only to things I would say as cons.... parking, I did not fully understand the way the parking worked with 2 condos in one space having to coordinate with them when you needed out... not a major inconvenience but still not the best. The only other concern I would have with the property is the electrical outlets, they are worn and some seemed to have shorts. We did not have major issues but still concern for safety. "A very nice unit at a great location. Apartment had adequate kitchen supplies, all major appliances and electronics worked well - except microwave, which kept shorting out. Kitchen has good pots, needs frying pans - I brought my own. Toaster and microwave need to be replaced. Door to guest bathroom scrapes on bathroom tile. Showers/tub, beds, and furniture in good condition. Exterminator sprayed during our stay, as maintenance. Great location, great deck for enjoying ocean views. Great access to the beach (which is gorgeous) and walking distance to the Carolina Beach boardwalk. Check in and out procedures were easy. Good value for the price."

"We've stayed in this property for 2 years, simply because of the proximity to family members who are also vacationing in CB. We hoped that the property owners would have some pride in their property and maintain/update the property. The mattresses and pillows I think are from 1985! The furniture is either broken or just "warn out" throughout the property. The kitchen is horribly stocked with warped/broken pans. To say the least, we were disappointed and all decided we'd rather walk a block to see family than stay in this place again."

"Our "real" vacations are spent in Emerald Isle. We get more for our money there. This particular condo promised wifi, which I needed for an early morning (5am) conference call. However the directions on how to connect were not clear. I would have called some one to help with it, except we couldn't because we couldn't check in till after 4pm, the office closed at 5pm on Sat and didn't reopen until Mon. at 9. On Monday they said I should've called the emergency number. However, in the check in material it explicitly said wifi was not an emergency and they would deal with issues like this on Monday morning. I conference call didn't go well because I didn't have access to the wifi I was expecting that I couldn't access. The only reason we were in Carolina Beach was because this was a working vacation for me. Otherwise we would have gone elsewhere or at least could have waited for the wifi, which I did anyway. I spent the rest of the week smoothing over the carnage of my conference call with Japan. If someone had answered the non-emergency phone of Sat., I could've fixed the problem in under 15 min. and my entire vacation would have been more relaxing. I will never do a "working vacation" here again. As a vacation spot it was average. Wilmington, where I also had a couple meetings, is really all it's got going for it."
10/14 We're sorry this guest had issues. Our office is open until 5:00pm on Saturdays. We do not consider wifi as an emergency, but there are exceptions to all rules. If a guest is ever in a tight bind we are always happy to help! There was internet service in the unit, the guest just unfortunately did not understand how to get on. We have updated the instructions for the internet so it is more clear, it is on all arrival packets. We spoke with this guest at 9:00am Monday morning when the office reopened and quickly got them online. We appreciate the feedback on our services, and will use it to improve our processes. CMM
"My family had a great vacation at the Reefs V D2"
"We usually stay at another condo when we visit Carolina Beach but had to rent this instead because out usual was occupied. We loved the location and the flat screen TV's. The condo had plenty of rooms and we were supplied with more than enough towels and washcloths. Unfortunately, the mattresses were very hard, the unit had ants, the oven burns food in a matter of 10 min no matter what temp you put it on,and the dishwasher does not get the dishes clean. The worst part was that you have to share parking lanes with your neighbor so that everytime one of you wants to go anywhere, the other has to come down and move their car so you can get out. "

"We thought the rental unit had everything anyone would need, the only issue is parking. Apparently even though you get a parking pass everyone blocks everyone in, when we called Intercoastal they said it was up to us to locate the driver of the vehicle and ask them to move out of our spot. We had to do that twice, one person wasn't very happy about it the other said they didn't understand the parking at all. "

"We had a very enjoyable 3-night stay at the Reefs V. We had the 2nd floor South corner unit, and were VERY pleased with the large corner balcony, and the spacious 2 bdrm unit. It was clean and well furnished, kitchen equipped with all you need. The pool was small, but private and well kept. The location was only 6 short blocks from the boardwalk and restaurants with entertainment. Our only complaint was the terrible lumpy and flat pillows-all of easy fix."

"Very nice accommodations and access to the beach. I have vacationed at Carolina Beach about 10 times in which I now always try to book the Reefs V when I go. This particular condo was very nice and will most likely try to rent again on my next vacation. "
"Overall, our stay was great. The location is perfect, right on the beach so easy to go to and from & close enough to walk to the boardwalk. Parking is a bit of a pain having to move your car for others to get in/out, but it looks like that's how many of the condos are. Inside could use some updating. The oven/stove is OLD and didn't work well. The TV in living area had a broken cord so we couldn't connect our laptop to watch Netflix and TV in the bedroom had HORRIBLE picture. All of those things are obviously minor compared to the beautiful view you get, but I would have liked to have a bit more of an updated interior and those things kept up with. The bed in the master is horrible, for this reason alone, I wouldn't stay here again. It was clear it's the cheapest mattress they could find, I found myself sleeping more on the couch than in that bed during our week stay! It was also obvious a dog had stayed there prior (it says no pets) because we found some dog hair and dog toys under the bed (and I'm allergic) so we had to vacuum several times while there. "
7/12 This unit did a lot of basic upgrades this off season; new carpet, new paint, new living room furniture, new patio furniture. This off season they will be focusing on the secondary items above. We really appreciate this feedback, as this is what we use to make our improvements! We hope this guest will stay with us again, and the unit will have even more new items next year. CMM
"The kitchen is in desperate need of being updated. The unit is described as updated. The oven does not work properly and the supplies were rusted and very limited. The eyes on the stove were not installed properly and that was corrected by the technician early in the stay. The rental company was responsive to the supplies issue. The only viewable tv is the living room unit. The others were not and that appears to be again because of lack of updates. "
6/24 Very sorry this guest was disappointed! This owner has just put in new furniture, new carpet, repainted, new furniture for the outdoor patio, and two new flat screen TVs. After this review we have bought new supplies for the kitchen as well. I hope they return! CMM
