Sunskipper D11 is a beautiful ocean front condo with 3 bedrooms, including a loft. It is on the north end of Carolina Beach and has access to two pools. Completely remodeled in 2016. New stainless appliances, granite counter tops, flooring, paint, furnishings, and remodeled bathrooms.
When you enter this penthouse unit you'll love the amazing views and spacious layout. The living room is oceanfront with a sleeper sofa, flat screen TV, and bar seating. The dining area and kitchen are spacious and fully stocked, perfect for family meals in. Also on the first floor you will find the washer/dryer, a full hall bathroom, and two bedrooms. The first bedroom has a king bed and access to the street facing balcony. The second bedroom has a queen bed and private full bathroom. Follow the stairs upstairs to the third bedroom loft area. There are two queen beds upstairs, perfect for the kids.

" The unit was pretty nice. Great location right on the water with a nice balcony overlooking everything. The only major downfall is the parking. The parking spots underneath the unit are so small that a standard SUV can barely fit in and you can barely open up the doors to even get out of the car. You have to tuck your side mirrors in or else they will hit the pillars which happened to us. That basically added a couple hundred dollars to our vacation."
"It was not one of our best. When we checked in the room was extremely warmAnd it took us until the next day to get it comfortable. There was not a cover on the water meter reader and one of the persons in my party tripped and fell over the whole. There was not a DVD player in the unit The dining table in the unit was not large enough for the mount of occupants."

"Great location, super nice,updated. Yes parking is tight but just about all parking is tight at the beach. I seen no issues with the air conditioning it kept cool the whole time. Great view from balcony A++"
"My family had a good time here but there are several things that we were disappointed with. We had three adults, a 7 yr old and a baby. Overall the condo is very old and very dirty. The pictures dont show the true condition of his unit.
Here are things to know when considering this property:
1. 4th floor with no elevator and very old/dirty/stinky stairwell.
2. Beachfront is great view from deck BUT there are huge bolder/rocks between beach and condo and when the tide is in there is only about 2-3ft of sands so you cant really set up on the beach right outside of your condo for the day. We had to haul our stuff down the beach a ways to have more beach/sand area or you need to be willing to move your stuff once the tide comes in.
3. Parking is extremely tight and akward under the house condo building.
4. No place to wash feet at condo after beach.
5. The interior of condo was filthy. The first day our feet were black from walkin around inside without shoes. There was a lot of personal items left throughout the condo...hair clips, pregnancy tests, lots of stuff in fridge, filthy under beds and cabinets. Closets had random stuff in them. Left over makeup bags/cosmetics in bathroom. In general just a lot of unorganized junk in random places.
6. The A/C did eventually keep it cool but it needed a good 48 hours to get down to comfortable temp.
7. The owners have tried to update the place aesthetically so it looks good in pics but it is still an old condo and has a lot of rickety stuff in it.
8. Carolina beach in general is not a high end beach and has a lot of people in a small area. The boardwalk is quite trashy and the amusement ride area is scary at best. We do recommend donuts at Britts though!
9. Both pools are across street and we made the best of them but they are super small, no slide or diving boards or anything fancy. Just a few chairs and a hole in an old concrete frills.

"This was our first visit to Carolina Beach. We really enjoyed the area and the rental unit was fine. The unit was as pictured and had a nice view from the balcony. The exterior of the building could use some TLC. The interior was freshly painted and had a nice kitchen with high quality appliances and plenty of dishware and equipment. Negatives were the number of steps, only 2 very tight parking spaces, very slow internet, and the most basic of cable. Positives were location, location, and location. "
"Overall positive experience for us and our kids, 19 & 16 and each had a friend. Location was fantastic, a short walk from the beach. Would stay here again, it comfortably accommodated 6, not sure I would want to have more here unless you had children."
"Decent condo with great beach but needs the following before I would return:
1. Not enough seating in Living Area. Only seating for four- but space is advertised to house 6 or 8. We had six adults competing for a couch and a single chair. Plenty of room for another couch or loveseat. Very cheap to fix this issue.
2. AC unit cannot cool Loft sleeping area at outside temps above 85.
3. There is no water outside (hose or shower) to remove sand after a walk to the beach. So, there is sand up the interior steps and it is impossible to keep sand out of the unit. We vacation at the coast at least two weeks a year and have stayed at dozens of different units, but never one without a way to hose off sand.
If these items are addressed I will gladly return and recommend to a friend."
Thank you for providing feedback on your recent stay. We are happy you found the rental spotless and were satisfied with the condition of the rental and the location. We appreciate your willingness to gladly return and recommend to others if the owner corrects the three issues. 1. the owners plan to come down this weekend and look into adding more seating in the living room. 2. The owners did install a brand new HVAC unit this spring and a ceiling fan in the living room to help keep the hot air rising to the loft. They plan to have the heating and air company come back to give more recommendations. 3. The HOA removed the hose under the building because they had trouble with others turning on the water hose and leaving it on, so not having a hose there is out of the owners' control. There is, however, a water house outside each of the pools to rinse off (behind the yellow building across the street or behind the brown building across the street). The owners also suggested leaving a bucket with water outside the unit to rinse off. The owners will bring it up to the HOA again to see if they will reconsider having a hose outside. "We enjoyed our vacation and time at Carolina Beach. It was clear that the condo had been recently updated with fresh paint on the cabinets, newer vinyl flooring, bedding and furniture. The beach was large and for the most part pretty empty. It was extremely windy but it made the temperature feel lower than it was.
The unit is advertised as accommodating 10 people. We had 6 adults and 2 little kids and it was very cramped. You don't go to the beach to stay in your condo so we were okay with that. The air conditioning unit is either undersized or out of date. The property manager instructs renters to lower the temp 2 degrees at a time until you reach your desired set point or the coil will freeze. A little suspicious of that we did as instructed but the unit never hit 72 until 3 am every night. During the day the AC wasn't able to keep up and the condo temp would reach 80 degrees. I used the property managers app to report the issue as requested in the notification I received; but never received a response in any form. We just dealt with the heat. The loft never cooled down the entire week.
The comforters didn't appear to have been cleaned (had some stuff on them) before we arrived and since the condo was fairly warm we just placed them off to the side. They provide plenty of bath towels and wash clothes so you don't need to bring those with you.
The kitchen has very limited supplies. A few pans, plates, cups, one sharp knife, plenty of coffee mugs.
We also encountered little sugar ants everywhere in the unit and on the balcony. They are harmless but annoying. The unit may need to be treated, this wasn't reported to the property manager because we were on vacation and worried about complaining.
All in all we had a nice time at a decent price. If we return we will probably look for a different condo or house even if that means spending more money.

We are happy you noticed the owners had just completed a renovation in 2016 with all new grey plank laminate flooring, tile flooring and carpet throughout, new stainless appliances and countertops, new paint, and new furnishings and bedding throughout. We apologize that you had some maintenance issues with your rental during your visit and for the inconvenience this caused. We will investigate why we did not receive a notification from the app about your air conditioner. The owners also had a new HVAC unit installed in January 2016, so we did have the heating and air company come out to inspect it and do some adjustment. The owners also addressed your issues with the kitchen supplies. Although the unit had a service for 12 for dishware, they added an additional service for 6. We would have been happy to address the ants for you immediately to provide you with a better experience. The HOA is addressing the ant issue as they do regular pest treatments. "Condo was really nice- Beach was really nice. Staff at Intracoastal Realty were unorganized. I was assured when I booked that WIFI would be set up- it was not. I needed to send email for work, we had to completely set up new modem ourselves. Also, we all were trying to shower and hot water was off- we had to wait 1hour to let water heat up. When I called to report the experience we had there- Shelly was rude about my feedback, she also told me I had only turned in one of my keys. She called back an hour later saying she'd found my second key but that our parking passes weren't there. There was a clearly printed note on counter at condo saying leave parking passes on condo. Shelly told me that was completely incorrect and they needed to have the note removed. Unorganized in my opinion to be bothered at work with that phone call. "

Our on call manager spoke to you multiple times throughout the weekend, and helped in all ways possible. The hot water issue was resolved within 30 minutes, and we unfortunately were never notified of the wifi issue. We spent quite some time getting you a key when you locked yourself out, but once we arrived at the office and contacted you we were notified we were no longer needed. Our arrival packets clearly state parking passes must be returned to the office, we will ensure this is pointed out more clearly. We are glad you enjoyed your stay overall.
