Watersports Lessons and Rentals

Outdoor fun is what it’s all about at Carolina Beach! If your family is interested in testing out surfing, paddle boarding, or kayaking, we recommend booking a lesson or tour with Tony Silvagni Surf School. It offers private and group lessons based on the skill level of an individual, and the instructors are CPR and First Aid certified. Don’t need lessons and just want to get out on the water? Head on over to Pleasure Island Rentals to get the gear you need for the day! You can also opt to rent kayaks and paddleboards at Carolina Beach State Park through Paddle NC.This is a great area to experience nature and history, as the land around the state park played a pivotal role during the American Revolution and the Civil War. Some other water activities you can try at Carolina Beach are renting jet skis at North End Jet Ski Rentals, pontoon boats at Carolina Beach Pontoon Rental, or you could take a plunge and learn how to scuba dive with Carolina Beach Diving Adventures.

Outdoor Fun Rentals

When you’re not on the water, we suggest taking everyone out for a bike ride, or make it an adventure on a surrey bike. You can rent these at Wheel Fun Rentals, which offers them at hourly, daily and weekly rates. Each rental includes a bike lock, helmets, and a basket/bike bag to hold your belongings. Wheel Fun Rentals also provides self-guided bike tours, which gives riders the opportunity to learn about some historic sites at Carolina Beach.

Carolina Beach Lake Park

Carolina Beach Lake Park is an 11-acre freshwater lake located just minutes from the ocean. It’s a great place for families to take a leisurely stroll, use the playground, and have a picnic at the picnic shelter. The park hosts several special events throughout the year, including Saturday morning farmers’ markets, free outdoor movies on Sunday evenings during the summer, and a “Light up the Lake” twinkling light celebration in the winter.

Learn about Our Sea Turtles

Did you know Carolina beach is home to nesting sea turtles? To keep them safe, the Pleasure Island Sea Turtle Project was formed, which is made up of volunteers that patrol Carolina Beach and nearby Kure Beach during nesting season to ensure the protection of threatened or endangered sea turtles. The organization offers free educational “Turtle Talks” during the summer, which teach children and their families about sea turtles, their habitat, life cycle, and how they can help keep these creatures alive.
