The overall experience was very good, alot of communication.
Probably could use some new beds and/or box springs. Probably one of the most beautiful locations ever!!

Our stay went without a hitch. Staff everywhere were friendly.
Comment: During this wave of COVID, I appreciated the bike rental agency mandating indoor mask wearing. Other merchants felt this was optional. The tram ride was rather crowded and not everyone wore a mask.
It felt like Intracoastal Realty was sensitive to these concerns. I wish others were.

We lucked out with the wonderful weather this weekend. Great location, cozy house, all amenities as advertised. Our two-year old loved the porch and walk to the beach as well.

Stayed at Captain Charlie’s Two for two weeks . Beautiful view , great location . House needs major updating and they have to get the bug problem under control . Exterminator came but it should have been before I came .

Overall it was an amazing vacation and when we needed assistance with our cart over the weekend, response was immediate, which was surprising in a good way. Minor maintenance issues in the house (i.e. bathroom door rubs on floor), but overall a great house. Will definitely be renting again. Thank you.

Great ocean and sunset views from front porch! Real estate managers vey responsive! We had difficulties with annoying beach flies, but not sure if this is a common experience.

Have stayed at CC 3 and 1 several times before we purchased a unit at Hammocks. Sold Hammocks last year and returned for a week in June at CC 2. The unit was clean as you can get an older unit but was in disrepair in several areas. Both keys never worked well in the locks. Service folks did use some penetrating oil which helped some but locks were always hard to unlock. At our request screen door needed to have a new latch but a front on one of the kitchen cabinets was never reattached leaving sharp screw points exposed. Some very simple additions could be added while still maintaining the “original CC decor. Adding a couple of towel holders in the bathroom. These could be very simple and not affect the overall decor. We called about the trash bin top falling off and this was never repaired! Additional close hooks in the entryway could be added without changing the overall decor. We knew what we were getting into when we rented one the CC group but expected better upkeep than what we experienced. Thanks for making it easy to provide input. Hope this info helps the next renter.

The ocean breeze and wave melody through Captain Charlie’s screen doors are unforgettable. Our first visit to Bald Head Island set a high standard with this uniquely charming stay. We can’t wait to return! The cottage is beautifully maintained and furnished with a thoughtful layout. We would love to see a little more attention to stocking well for guests with the kitchen, bathroom, and puzzles/games. We made the most of packing with rolling tubs of beach supplies and basic house supplies. We would also recommend a king bed in at least one bedroom and new window screens throughout. Thank you to the owners and management team for sharing Captain Charlie’s with us!

We had a great time in Captain Charlie’s 2! My wife and two baby boys stayed for 8 nights and loved everything about it. It is a perfect cozy size for a couple or small family, private beach access, and just a short drive from the market. We never felt cramped but if you are looking for a lot of space you might want to consider the other Captain Charlie’s homes 1 and 3 which have 3 bedrooms compared to this one’s 2. Management was also very helpful and easy to work with, meeting us personally as we got off the ferry, arranging all logistics for us and helping us add on additional nights to our stay. We will be coming back very soon!

Captain Charley’s II provided us a much needed respite from 2020. Beautifully decorated, the cabin is comfortable, clean and well-stocked. The views from the front porch are breathtaking as you are continually lulled by the waves. Incredible sunsets every evening and sunrises ever morning were certainly a treat. We’ve already planned to book again next year!

Great location. Good space for a couple. For the price, would have liked to have enough toilet paper and shampoo/conditioner to last the long weekend - had to go out and purchase my own.

If you want luxury....this is not it.
The Captain Charlie beach houses are old...and small.....but the porches are the star of the show....with wonderful, sturdy rockers for you to enjoy the best ocean and sunset views on the island. The kitchen needs help....a new toaster, a spatula, a can opener...also, you need to bring paper towels and toilet paper.
CCII has one bathroom which is between the 1st and 2nd floor. So you must manage stairs every trip to the bathroom, no matter where you are in the house.
We prefer something fresher, newer, and cleaner ... BUT....the privacy and great views bring us back to Captain Charlie's time and time again.

The location and view....just perfect. I think the website should be more clear about what is at the house and what is not. The kitchen needs a cookie sheet and plastic glasses to use outside. Also needs to be more clear on what 'initial' supplies are. This house now has an over supply of coffee filters! Perhaps suggestions to bring. Call center is great...and responsive. Email not so much. Bedrooms are comfortable and more soap for the shower would have been nice. There are two beach chairs that we didn't know would be there...I had rented chairs and would not have had I known they were there. You need bottled water to drink..and was happy to see a bag of ice in the freezer. Finally...the beach has eroded and so there is no easy way to reach the beach from the houses. It's about a 10 foot drop from the dune to the beach.
Something needs to be done about that! You SHOULD be able to walk to the beach straight from the house. The views are amazing on the adirondeck chairs makes everything better...except for not reaching the beach easily.
