Cool Breeze

The residence was beautiful. Perfectly laid out. Well equipped (except the vacuum was so-so). A few issues people need to know before travelling here. First, the house is very close to the beach...but to get to the beach, the wooden walkway was washed away and you have to maneuver your way through big boulders. Not easy with a beach cart and stroller. Second, the beach has eroded from this point on the island and going north to the point where you cannot set up your stuff on the beach since high tide comes all the way up to the rock boulders. So you must enter the beach through the rocks, and must set-up about 50 yard south...along with everyone else.

Finally, the downstairs neighbor asked us the keep our children quiet after 7pm! Yes, 7pm. And knocked on the door one night at 10:30 asking us to stop walking so loudly on the floor. Not easy with an 18 month old...and kids on vacation excited to stay up late.

I realize there is nothing the owners can do about any of this, and it doesn't take away from how nice the house is. I personally wish I knew all of these things before renting and that is my reason for writing this review.

And the rental company is VERY responsive and accommodating! Can't say enough good things about Jennifer and Intracoastal Realty!

Rental unit was nice. Well appointed with all the utensils, sheets, towels etc...needed. Any issue we had was quickly tended to by property management. The elevator came in handy when moving in. Property sits on a pretty quiet stretch of Carolina Beach...only negative was a Mockingbird that insisted on singing at all hours of the day and night (like 2 am to 4 am). Outside shower was handy when coming in off the beach as well. Beach was a bit shorter than we are used fact there is significant beach erosion occurring at the moment, but this did not deter us, it just meant we had to walk a few blocks to access the beach. Beach was uncrowded and we were within 5-15 minutes of everything (Fort McHenry, Aquarium, Publix etc...)

Carolina Beach is a favorite place to stay for our family of 4 (my wife and I and our two grown children) and our new favorite place to stay is at Cool Breeze!! We found Cool Breeze by searching the internet and we are so glad we did! This place in a word is awesome!! It was very clean and comfortable with a large family room, modern kitchen and spacious bedrooms with plenty of room to spread out and relax! It also has an elevator which is a lifesaver for carrying your “gear” up to and down from the 3rd floor! It’s perfectly located right across the street from a public access spot to the beach which allowed us to quickly go back and forth between the property and the beach when needed. There is a pier located within walking distance that is fun to check out and that serves a simple but good lunch with items like BLT and fish sandwiches, cheeseburgers, great fries, etc. Part of what makes staying at the beach fun for us to going out to eat at great restaurants! Some of our favorites are located nearby like The Dive right up the street at the beach, Fish Bites located about 20 - 30 minutes away and Chops Deli located in downtown Wilmington. It was a great week of relaxation and fun for us at Carolina Beach and a big part of what made it so great was Cool Breeze!! We can’t recommend it enough. We hope to stay at Cool Breeze again in the near future!!

Aunts,cousins,grandparents all enjoyed the wonderful view from the deck. Lots of seating to enjoy visiting. Loved the easy walk to the beach and access to stores and restaurants. Thank goodness for the elevator, three flights of stairs was not easy when carrying items to the top. Will keep this place in mind if I need to come this way again!

This beach house was the best ever! We had the best time at Carolina beach, and were glad to come home to this wonderful beach house each night! The beds were the best ever in comfort, the space was inviting and all of the accommodations were spot on for ease and comfort. This is a wonderful site for a family vacation, lots to do for the kiddos and easy beach access. Thanks so very much for a very memorable time!

My wife and I stayed four months in this home. We enjoyed watching the sunrises over the ocean, dolphins swimming by once or twice a week, and there was always a surfer or two trying to catch a wave. Your not ocean front but it's hard to tell the difference since you have a direct veiw of the beach, through the the beach access that is right in front of the house. It also cool that you can watch the street activity as well. Home was clean and in good working order.

Cool Breeze was a beautiful cottage located within a great beach access and a 30minute beach walk to the boardwalk. We were 17 minutes from the fort fisher fairy that took us to Southport. We enjoyed the restaurants close by and were able to be close enough to Wilmington to explore and eat. I would stay at this cottage again.

Enjoyed our stay but had problems with ice maker and the direct tv. The carpets were filthy and would recommend them being cleaned. Nice unit! Too bad we had these problems which caused us to waste a lot of our vacation time waiting for them to be fixed

This was our second year staying in "cool breeze" and think it is a great place. Very quiet with a good floor plan and a great view. The staff at Intercoastal are second to none and a pleasure to work with. The down side was the floors were filthy, ants were in the kitchen & bath, the tub would not drain, towel rack was broken but after a call to Intercoastal it was corrected right away. The owner could stand to do some upgrades for the price of rental.

We were originally put in a less desirable location called Got It All. It was awful. Bad neighborhood and the unit was filthy. The rental company ended us moving us to this unit and it was terrific. We had a private elevator to our room. Hardwood floors throughout the until. We would definitely stay there again.

This is an outstanding place to stay and was in excellent shape. Great view of the ocean to be 2nd row & only steps away! Beds were comfortable and the floor plan worked well for our family. The elevator helped with bags & grocerys but the steps were fine for our normal traffic. The staff was very helpful in assisting my son with a little wifi trouble. The only down side was the downstairs showers were not working and we could not access the storage area either. Another big plus for us was the family in the lower unit were very friendly & respectful.
