Stunning 6 bedroom 5 ½ bath triplex in Kure Beach.
This property boasts hardwoods, granite, fireplace stainless appliances, and 5 balconies. Four of the bedrooms have their own private bathroom. There is Jack and Jill bath that is shared by two of the bedrooms. Two balconies can be accessed from the main living area and three of the bedrooms have their own private balcony.
This is one of the end units in the triplex so the extra windows make for lots of natural light and great ocean views.
The property address is on S. Fort Fisher, but it is uniquely situated facing E street. This provides for a quiet oasis. The beach access is directly across the street.

"The location was nigh perfect, with beach access an easy stroll from the driveway. The beach itself was lightly populated throughout the week. An outside shower is listed, but we only found a well-used garden hose at the front of the driveway; it served fine for washing off sandy feet. I do recommend adding a mat of some kind at the base of the stairwell - we used one we brought, and it kept much of the sand from tracking throughout the house all week.
The house was clean and plenty of linens and towels were provided. We found the great room couches quite comfortable. The bedrooms were comfortable as well except for one, the pyramid bed room, detailed below. The bathrooms were all good, the showers had plenty of water pressure and heat throughout the week. The balconies are small, but we found them to be fine for late night conversations and morning sunrises. Appliances were in good condition, except the dishwasher, also detailed below. A/C was frosty, and kept us comfortable throughout our stay, important when the heat index is regularly above 100oF.
* The pyramid bed both sank in the mattress center and was noisy at the slightest movement, making sleep difficult.
* The toilet pedestals in several bathrooms moved (!) and need to be properly fixed to the floor.
* The dishwasher was covered in grime and mold throughout it's interior. We tried to clean it with a 4+ hour cycle using white vinegar, but it did not save it. We opted to hand wash and dry all dishes during the week - a significant inconvenience with a dozen people doing meals and drinks.
All else was minor - some blinds in the kitchen/living room area were heavily damaged before we arrived, which we reported, but they didn't impact privacy. A curtain rod came down in a bedroom after someone set something against the curtain - we noted it looked as though it had been repaired multiple times in the past. These barely impacted out enjoyment, though - overall, it was a 5-s"
"We had a nice stay at Coquina. The location was even closer to the beach than we anticipated. We had 1 night with the center triplex rented, but we couldn't hear them. Loved the colors of the rooms. House was clean. I believe the "sand in the beds" issues is because there are no rugs except one on the 3rd floor. You track sand throughout the house, including the bedrooms, because of this. We put down towels to help. Nice, large kitchen area. Nice to find dish soap, plastic wrap, and starter soap and T.P. What I didn't like about the house is the stairs are steep and narrow. The couches are quite uncomfortable because the backs are short, plus they are deep and too cushy. I had to hand wash 75% of the dishes and glasses because the dishwasher is terrible. Had the repairman out and guess he fixed the heat issue after we left, but that's only part of the problem. The balconies are useless so don't plan to use them. There are 3 pans for the oven. One had to be thrown out because it was peeling. The other 2 are small cookie sheets. 2 of 5 lights were out over the kitchen table and never replaced though I called twice about it and mentioned to maintenance when they came to fix something. The fan in the master bedroom runs on high only. There are several broken slats in the blinds. Lastly, the balcony doors are extremely difficult to lock. None of these are deal breakers, but they are items that should be addressed. I've learned to bring 2 good pans, 2 good knives, a dishcloth and pot scrubber when I rent. "
"Place was great. We went post Covid-19 and everything was clean and no issues. Plenty of space to spread out. very close walk to the beach. It was a great weekend!"
"Liked being able to go right to the property & having keyless entry. Property could have been a little cleaner. Living room furniture needs to be replaced, king bedroom on 2nd floor needs a new mattress, sheets on the 2nd floor king bed were on backwards & had sand all over them so had to strip the bed & wash them. Some of the blinds in the living room are torn & haven't been replaced. No water pressure in the king bedroom in the 3rd floor bathroom. You would think if linens were provided they would have been clean. No cable in the bunkroom. Water was coming up thru the floor in the bedroom in the bottom floor bedroom & smelled of mold which needs to be looked into. A/C quit working on Thursday that required someone come out. A/C needs to be serviced more often."

"We had a great week! We had 4 families total, and we were very comfortable. House was nice, air condition worked great! Lots of extra blankets and comforters for the beds, lots of seating for eating and a comfortable living space. Furnishings very nice. Very close to the beach-just walk across the road and down the boardwalk and you are there. Beach was nice. Lifeguards on the beach and not too crowded. The beach is wide and there are lots of shells to find. We had a problem with the ice maker but our concerns were addressed quickly. House was very clean and there were plenty of towels available. Bottom floor does have a musty smell and the shower in that bathroom has a really high water pressure. Other than that house was great! It is 3 stories so take that in to consideration if you are disabled. We really enjoyed our stay!!"
"We had a great time here! The beach was wonderful not to crowded. The beach was very clean too. The house was beautiful. However it was not cleaned as well as we are used to. There are plenty of blankets for extra beds, but they were not organized ( nor do I believe they have been washed). The price was spectacular! The little things didn’t turn us away from never returning...just wanted to express the cleanliness of the place was less then desirable. "
"After renting the same property in N Topsail for 4 years, my family decided to try something in the Kure beach area that was big enough to house our large group and offer more variety of amusements. This house was able to accommodate our annual family reunion and was ideally situated near the best of what the beach has to offer plus aquarium, parks, museums, and ferry were all less than 10 minutes away. The beach access is right across the street. I only have a few minor criticisms: The AC. It was not working when we checked in and was not repaired until very late that night. Worked great afterwards but I feel AC is something that should be top priority at beach properties and verified after house-cleaning. We checked in at 5 and it was 85 F upstairs. The closets were a mess. Not that we used them much but they were full of unopened or half-opened packages of sheets and comforters most (if not all) unwashed. The kitchen could have used a few more tools. No one expects Wusthof knives but sharp without rust is essential. Cleanliness - I do have high standards but I HAD to wipe all the surfaces down and tell all my family to leave their shoes on which is not normal for us but we realize not everyone lives as we do. Loved the location and layout of the house so we are considering coming back next year!"

"This was a terrific place in an ideal location...right across from a beach access point. Lots of space. I think we'll definitely book for next year. Only a few issues we could think of: the linens weren't there and the beds were not made up when we got there but they arrived soon after we did. We did see a few roaches. And the upstairs half bath didn't lock/stay closed very well. And I think this was our fault, but the decks, while there were several, were very tiny."

"I was pleased with the rental company and the people I spoke to throughout the process. I did not think the house was under-repaired as in some earlier review I read... and we housed 3 couples two additional adults(with their own bed) and 4 grandchildren... and everyone slept in a room with a bed.
Quite frankly the house worked well for us. We were a bit disappointed in the balconies (small with few views) but The wonderful huge Communal Table, the large Family Room and the(shorter than the picture shows) walk to the beach WERE PERFECT for our family.
Suggestion- please make the trash cans noted for the unit.
As for the Kure Beach location. It is great for families with less of an emphasis on mini-golf and amusements and more of an emphasis the beach and water. Only ate out 2xs and both were good.

"Booking our vacation rental was quick and easy. We loved the house and location, and this is the second time we've stayed there. We really feel the house and location are worth the summer price. However, once we arrived we noticed the cleaning crew did not do a thorough job. The floors were covered in sand, dirt, and literal trash (apple cores, dirty napkins, candy wrappers, gum). The fridge was not wiped out (remnants of old food), and the freezer drawer was frozen shut. All of the bedroom closets had additional linens thrown on the floors, making the closets difficult to use. On our second day we began experiencing issues with the AC (not our complaint, things happen!), but I had a terrible time trying to get ahold of the company for scheduling. The woman who kept answering the phone kept transferring me to the wrong office without warning, I believe I called maybe a total of 7 times and never had my questions resolved. Finally the AC repairman showed up after waiting several hours, not knowing when to expect them. Several members of our group also had a difficult time with the worn out mattresses."

"We Arrived on Tuesday 11/22 late. I had called the office the previous week to set up a late check-in. I wrongly assumed the key box that the lady I spoke with would be at the rental house. After tracking someone down passed 11pm that night, I was finally told that the key and the entry instructions were at the rental agency. This was not a good start. The rest of the rental was ok except we found the house had not been cleaned very well prior to our arrival."

"We had a great vacation at the rental place. We were about 8 adults and a handful of kids. Everyone got their preferred room, and the living room combines with the kitchen/ dining room was a great place to hang out and catch up. The house was large enough to accommodate us and small and cozy enough that we felt at home. Clean place, all appliances worked well and we really didn't have any problems. Good access to grocery stores, perfect short hop to the beach, and the rental staff were so helpful and accommodating - I would definitely recommend Intracoastal to my friends, and look forward to booking our next vacation with them. "Spent a week at the beach with our adult children, their spouses and our 5 granddaughters. Coquina House was just perfect! Beautifully decorated with a great family space to eat together and spend time together. Owners have stocked their kitchen well with all the items you need to prepare dinner for a group of 13. they have included 2 large tables so eating together worked out great. Beds were very comfortable - A/C was working perfectly. The best part is the location of this home. You are not paying prices to be right on the beach but the location is perfect with a 2 minute walk just across the street to the boardwalk beach access. Could not have worked out better with 5 little girls! Thank you for a great family week at the beach. Would definitely return for another stay."
"Overall we had a good experience, there were a few problems however..Some of the bedding Iwas soiled and one cover was on the floor under the bed on arrival. We stayed in Coquina previously and 2 televisions were missing (kids depend on them for gaming purposes ). Now, having said that, it is a beautiful house, Intracoastal hustled some clean bedding over and 2 tv's arrived within a day or so. I have been renting from them every year for about 10 years,the people are first class all the way. .I guess nobody is perfect. .."

"This was the 2nd time we rented this unit. The location is great and the condo is very nice. When the weather is hot the A/C has a difficult time "keeping up", particularly if people are going in & out of the door quite often. We only had a couple of concerns on our stay & they were minor. The grill was very dirty and didn't look as if it had been used in quite some time. Or, it hasn't been cleaned in a LONG TIME! I was looking forward to cooking out one night but passed due to the condition of the grill. I actually considered buying a cheap one but didn't. Check in- This may be strictly a policy, but the past two years we weren't able to get a key one minute before 4:00 pm. But, it seemed odd that the cleaning staff was waiting for us the past two years @ 9:00 am outside the condo. That gave me a strange feeling seeing two cars parked in the street in front of the unit while we were packing to leave. I think we were told that the unit wasn't ready while waiting for the key. Does it take from 9:00 am to after 3:00 pm to clean the unit? I don't think it does. Suggestion- If the unit is ready on some occasions & the guest is there early to check in- LET THEM CHECK IN! Hotels and Resorts that are very accommodating almost always have let us check in early if the unit is ready. I think that is good business. Now, if the unit isn't ready I understand. But, with the crew out waiting @ 9:00 am to clean the unit I would think it could be ready within an hour of check in. Just a suggestion or constructive criticism & not necessarily a complaint. To be honest, I don't like policies or rules in this example that aren't allowed some flexibility. Being able to check in a little early always gets me off to a great start. Suggestion- leave a one hour window to try to accommodate your guests early if at all possible."
So sorry this guest had some issues. We do try to get guests in early, but during the summer it isn't always possible. Check out is at 10:00am and we use those open hours to clean, inspect, and perform maintenance. Hope to have this guest again and show them a better vacation.

"location was very good! this helped with all of our children. the furniture was adequate and the open space was a plus as well as having two eating tables. the kitchen was incredible too! the only negatives was the lack of bath tubs for bathing our kids. the showers were clean but the water flow is hurtful at times on burnt skin and for our babies with no way to adjust the pressure. the top floor did get a bit warm even with the a/c due to the sun pouring in the top windows. all in all, the location and updates on this house were fantastic against the few minuses."
"We had a fun time, but my 75 yr old father had trouble getting up & down 26 steps. View from king room downstairs is kinda blocked by the tree. Grills were soooo dirty couldn't use them. Loved the puzzles, we did everyone of them. Played chess and the upstairs was very spacious and fun to be in. Suggest putting TV's in all King and Queen Bedrooms, investing in a lift for the stairs for elderly would be great, we're used to stairs, but this was our first time renting a townhouse, usually rent a house that has split level stairs to go up. Your home is very beautifully decorated. Please make sure to get replacement comforters to put on the beds in case of renters ruining the ones that are there. We threw our comforters off the beds because of the many stains, (white spots, blood?, and God only knows what all the stains pertained to on the 2 king beds, and the blue queen room. Thanks for the experience! "
