"Our family has been staying at Duneridge every summer for over 25 years. We usually stay in the same condo, but it was recently taken off the rental market. This was our second stay at this condo. It is in a great location with an awesome view. We were happy with our stay, but would recommend some updates to the kitchen appliances and kitchenware. The bedding was in desperate need of replacement - the mattresses were average. We will definitely be back, but would highly recommend attention be paid to these areas."

"The location and view are unbeatable for a beach vacation. We've been coming to Wrightsville Beach as a family for over 20 years. The management company was very helpful, both with booking and check-in, however this property itself was quite disappointing. I failed to read all of the reviews because we've always had a positive experience at Dune Ridge. The other reviews are spot on though. The unit is extremely aged (dated furniture and accessories, broken sprinkler head, chipped and rusted fixtures in the bathrooms, and the dining table only had three chairs which was not great for a family of 5-6. It was noted in another review that a chair had broken previously, but given the rental fee the expectation is that it would have been replaced. While there were seating options at the bar, for a meal or card game together as a family in the rain it wasn't ideal. Dishes in the cabinets were not clean upon arrival. Not sure if the aged dishwasher may have been more of the reason for this. Since there was no independent Wi-Fi for the unit, the public option was spotty and unreliable. Obviously the objective of the trip was a vacation, but working professionals also keep in touch with the office when away. There was a lot of renovations and maintenance occurring during our stay which is understandable, however the unit itself needs to be updated and cleaned thoroughly. We will be back to Wrightsville Beach again soon, but unfortunately this unit absolutely did not provide the expected value for the money, so unless a major renovation occurs, we will not likely rent this unit again."

"While we were in the condo an unidentified man tried to enter the unit. He knocked on the door and then used a key to start to enter. My wife’s aide confronted him and he said” just checking to see if you need linens sweetheart.” He immediately left before I could question him. Didn’t make sense as this was the second day we were there. Called Rental agent and NO ONE, linen service, HOA or onsite maintenance could identify the person. Problem is that there is no way of securing the unit while you are in it. Anyone with a key can enter the unit at any time. We owned a unit at Duneridge for 28 years and had a deadbolt installed just too avoid a problem like this. Due to hurricane restoration too many people have keys. Would like to rent this unit in September but won’t unless deadbolt oe chain locks are installed.

"This is our 4th trip to Duneridge 2401 and, while always fun with a great location, we had issues with the unit and complex this year. The apartment was not clean upon arrival with dust, dirty floors, dining table awful, and dishes that had to be washed before using. Our son in law pulled out a dining room chair, went to sit down and fell as the chair had a broken leg that someone had previously tried (unsuccessfully) to fix. The second bathroom tub was clogged and the bathroom smelled. Steven from maintenance fixed the clog (although smell continued) and removed the chair. We cleaned the apartment ourselves although the vacuum does not work. We were told the pool would be open 4/15 but it was closed our entire stay (something about inspection which was an excuse given 2 years ago when we came). Lots of workmen, which we understand, but our car was covered in drywall overspray (pictures and issue reported) and our carport was used by a workman one evening so we couldn’t park there. Nails and debris throughout hallways and elevators which is dangerous with little ones. This time of year the office is closed a lot and Cali helped as best she could. Steven was also helpful but both limited. Clearly, renovation is underway but no excuse for certain other issues. "
"The beach at this location is awesome - we enjoyed quiet walks to the north end of the island. The unit is adequately equipped and very clean.
However - the beds were all so hard it was difficult to sleep (I tried them all) so we left early.

"This is the third time we have stayed in Duneridge 2401. You cannot beat the location and view, however, we were disappointed with many of the other features. While we were happy to see that the shower doors had been upgraded since our last stay, there were many other upgrades and updates that need to occur. While we are an easy going group, for the amount of money spent on this property, these things need to be addressed:
- We had to get the shower head replaced as it was only a trickle in the guest bathroom (now works great!)
- Many of the silverware and pots/pans still had food on them and we had to rewash everything
- Had to be supplied with new spatulas and cooking utensils midweek
- Very low water pressure in the kitchen sink faucet, plumber came and it was improved but needs to be replaced
- Need update in pots and pans, many of them have teflon flaking off and need a better spread of sizes
- Wifi is VERY spotty
Again, we have been here many times and would like to keep coming back, but not until these updates and upgrades have been made! "

"Property location was great. It was a short walk to the beach and nice having a pool on location. We slept 4 adults and 2 kids comfortably and the condo layout was great. Having a washer/dryer right in the condo was very convenient as well"
"The location was absolutely fabulous, the beach was wonderful and the general buildings and area were great. However, I would not recommend this particular condo to anyone. There were German roaches, and they even got in our bags and we took them with us! The appliances were mix matched and VERY OLD cheap. The dishwasher worked 1/2 the time. We kept having to re run the dishwasher b/c it did not clean the dishes. NONE of the dishes were clean when we got there and we hand washed them all before use. There was an open container of sugar in the cabinets along with ant and roach bait in every cabinet. We did not see ants, but there were lots of roaches, even in the bedrooms. We asked for the unit to be sprayed upon our departure to hopefully help the next guest. We will definitely return to Wrightsville Beach, but we will not stay in that particular unit again. The people with the management company were very nice and accommodating."

"Duneridge is a great location and overall a great property. We definitely enjoyed the view from the top floor. However, unit 2401 left a lot to be desired. First, the unit is very dated and the interior needs updating. The refrigerator is missing a shelf, which significantly reduces storage. The kitchen as a whole is in poor condition, however the lack of cleanliness was the most disappointing aspect. We found dirty glassware, silverware, and dirty floors in the bedrooms. "

"Our family has been coming to Duneridge for the last 13 years. We have 22-27 happy folks each year and we love the location and the facility(somewhat). Room 2401 was not what we had expected. On the suggestion of the realtor I paid a small premium ($67) for this unit. The water flow in the unit was always a trickle and the sink faucet did not work from day one and it broke down on day two and took 3 days to get it working again. All units we now rent need to be updated. the TV was ancient. Flat screen TVs today cost $400. Also I feel for what we are paying linens should be furnished. They were in 2405 our other unit. We will not rent this unit again. A great place for us over the years, but getting a little rundown for the rental cost. Sorry I had to be so blunt.
7/23 An appliance company had to be called out to repair the sink, their earliest opening took a day or so. We will make sure these concerns are addressed and resolved. CMM
"The size and location of this condo were superior. Though there were some items that could use updating (I left a list with the rental company). Shortly after check in we realized that the coffee maker was missing the pot. An Intracoastal employee immediately replaced with a new coffee maker. Being in an end unit was great with the additional sunlight to brighten the condo. The construction of the units was sturdy and we never heard a neighbor near us through the walls/floors."

"My family has been coming to Duneridge for 10 years--we love it here. But we were disappointed in this unit--one of the stove burners did not work, there were very few pots and many of those should have been tossed--peeling teflon, etc. We had to rewash cups and glasses that were not clean. Closets were crammed with lamps and other things that made using them difficult. We'll return to Duneridge but will chose a different unit next year."
5/1 Will be addressing the above issues once the unit is empty, we appreciate the input on things for improvement! CMM
"We were told at check in that "the microwave is leaking water" but the maintenance guy wasn't available on weekends and would come on Monday by noon. What was really going on was water was leaking from the ceiling through the microwave onto the electric stove. No backup microwave offered. By 2 on Monday, no repair guy. I went to office, rental agent gone but HOA lady there. She told me that the problem was not an owner/rental problem but an HOA outside unit problem but no one had told them. She called the manager for intracoastal on the beach, and some other people. Finally a microwave was brought to us, and repair guys showed up. this whole saga went on for a couple of days. They had to cut holes in ceiling, left layer of dust on some areas. Then later the lower door shelf on the fridge gave way and a bottle of wine fell to the floor, shattering glass and coating the floor with wine. It had been held in place with duct tape as it turned out. Oh, and one of our condo keys didn't work. Internet access was weak and unreliable. It would have been nice to have some basic info, like where is nearest grocery store. And that the lot is chained shut and guarded on weekends (unpleasant) So, the condo was beautiful but the customer service and maintenance made us unlikely to rent from IC again. "
So sorry to hear this stay went poorly. The microwave and leak have been resolved. The parking lot is chained during the summer to ensure parking is for Duneridge only. Hope to have them again and show them a better experience.

"1.Coffee maker was broken. This was reported twice on Friday (our first day) with assurances that it would be taken care of- it wasn't. Had to go to Starbucks 3 mornings. While at Starbucks last morning-our car was hit in parking lot by driver with no insurance.
2. Dishwasher broken- found out upon checkout that both coffeemaker and dishwasher had been reported previously and not fixed.
3. Bathrooms smelled moldy and need upgrades. Sink in one didn't drain properly
4.Beds in small bedroom very uncomfortable.
5. Overpriced for this unit especially with no linens provided"

"We enjoyed our stay overall at Duneridge2401, the location was perfect, the building nice, the pool large. BUT, the unit itself was VERY tired and the furniture dirty. I would not sit on the couches. We only rented for a weekend and did not like our security
deposit options. Seemed steep, as did the requirement by the owners that we pay the cleaning fee as well. Especially given the condition of the unit. We'd stay in another unit in this complex, or this one if the furniture is changed. Also, was not sure how
clean the beds were. Faucets in bath dirty as well. Needed general updating."
So sorry they were disappointed. Guests no longer pay cleaning fees and our security deposit options have changed. Hope to have them again, the owner is making adjustments to the unit.
"We have visited Dune Ridge five or six times over the past 10 years. It is in a phenomenal location on a perfect beach. The pool is great and the build quality of the facility gave me great security as we watched Hurricane Irene come into town last week.
However, I believe the facility was built in the late 80's / early 90's, and it is very dated. The rental units were mostly clean, but given 20 yrs of traffic, the floors and carpeting are matted and run down looking, and the bathrooms scream 1985 decor. In
general, the rental units look a bit dingy. It's time for a major refreshing of all the units."
