Recent Reviews About This Property

"I grew up in Wilmington and at Wrightsville Beach. I wanted an old fashioned beach cottage on the ocean for my family to visit the beach and our Wilmington relatives. This was everything I had hoped for. We are planning another trip for next summer!"

Ann D. from Geneseo, 09/06/2011

"The house was not worth the price we paid for a weekly rental - made the experience an overall disappointment. The owner needs to put some of their rental profits back into the basic maintenance house -starting with nails sticking out in the deck -to painting patchwork."

Steve M. from Atlanta, 06/05/2012

"*extension cords running everywhere, seems unsafe
*one of the two sinks in downstairs bathroom clogged
*clothes washer has black line of mold
*moldy downstairs shower curtain and tub drain area (black stuff floated up when I tried to give daughter a bath)
*2 bare nails above downstairs queen bed, right where you lay your head
*porch under deck was a mess with stuff everywhere
*grate on grill needs to be replaced
*steps to sand washed away so it's a huge leap from deck to walk to beach
*porch and deck splintery with nail head sticking up, had to wear shoes in those areas

Carla W. from Wilmington, 06/27/2012

"House is very well laid out for a relaxed stay by extended family. Multiple areas for family to spread out and everyone to have their space. Large kitchen and dining area very convenient for casual beach dining. Really enjoyed the screened porch area. "

Bruce T. from Oak ridge, 07/02/2012

"Upstairs open floor plan, size & screened porch/deck were wonderful. Comfortable. Location & Beach area w/lifeguard was great. Kitchen adequately supplied. Nice W/D, TV & 2 fridges. Linens incl. Concerns: Doubt electrical could pass inspection.Blew fuse with blow dryer. Elec. box & open outlet behind curtain/headboard in kids bedroom, exposed wiring, lots of extension cords. Confusing light switch placement Ants in kitchen. Walkway to beach overgrown. Lower level hot and musty. Had to run fans nonstop!"

Elizabeth S. from Hendersonville, 07/23/2012

"The house worked well for our party of 6. Great location and well-furnished. There were no extra trash can liners, but some were quickly delivered when requested. Much of the exterior wood-work is in disrepair, but structurally sound. A classic beach house! We also were grateful to find some boogie boards, saving us on added expenses. Would have been nice is some basic spices and staples (non-perishables) could be on supply in the kitchen, but otherwise it was well-equipped."

Robert A. from Northfield, 08/06/2012

"Everything was handled very smoothly. Intracoastal alerted us to a repair that would occur on Monday morning, so we were not surprised when the crew appeared. House is a very comfortable, family friendly home that made your time at the beach very enjoyable."

Bruce T. from Oak ridge, 06/17/2013

"I was extremely happy to see that the kitchen had been updated. It was a joy to use.
The inside of the house looked good but was not as clean as it had been in the past. The
outside of the home was in need of MANY repairs. The deck, deck on the roof were not usable and a danger to my grandchildren. There is not an easy way to wash off after coming off the beach. Any there was a great deal of dangerous trash from the new air conditioner.
The electrical issue was resolved only after many calls to the office. I hope the owner will address the much needed structural issues!"

Bryan G. from Roanoke, 07/14/2013

"Had some problems with electricity, ants, and cleanliness issues. Home is attractive and in good location"

from Wilmington, 07/22/2013

"had a wonderful week. Only one complaint. The downstairs seemed very musty. This could have been from all the rain that the East Coast had this year, however, a dehumidifier might have helped."

from Richmond, 08/12/2013

"We were extremely unhappy and unsatisfied. We have been staying on Figure 8 island for years and wanted to try something closer. The pictures and the description do not match the property and unfortunately Intracoastal did not warn us of its faults and defects. For a home that was supposed to be 5 bedrooms, it is extremely small and not well suited to adult children guests. The basement is musty, moldy and disgusting. The first floor is acceptable in terms of physical condition especially the kitchen but the bedroom and bathroom cleanliness was horrible. The bedroom mattress had springs coming out of the bed and was so lumpy I would prefer to sleep on the floor. The pillows and bedspread were beyond disgusting with dirt and what looked like blood. The water pressure was non existent for showers and the porch leaked water when it rained. For what I wanted and would have paid, this home isnt worth half of what they get for rent. Would never stay there or recommend it to anyone.

Intracoastal was professional, courteous but the failed to be honest and transparent about this property until I complained and admitted they had a ton of complaints and problems with this property. That should have been known upfront and the failure to disclose and be honest about its condition and size was a big failure on their part."

Kirk R. from Hinsdale, 08/27/2013

"We were at Wrightsville Beach for our daughter's wedding with a family group of 11, aged 2 to 77. This house was perfect for all ages--well-equipped, comforable, great division of space, clean and bright, and gorgeous tasteful, thoughtful decor. The lower level family room would have been perfect had it rained resulting in groups wanting to do different things, but even with great weather it provided a quiet place for the children to ease into bedtime. The bench and hose by the walkway from the ocean was genius. The charming owner asked us for notes regarding anything to improve the house, and the only minor things we could add would be: a thermal coffee pitcher to carry to the deck while the next pot perks, an etagere for the master bedroom (room for it between the two windows) to provide more space to put one's belongings, and a small shelf for toiletries in the master bath. A coffee table downstairs might help, too. A few beach chairs would be welcome. We've rented a lot of houses and must say this ranks up there with the very best. We'd return in a heartbeat, and we hated to leave. The pictures online should be updated to show the new furnishings and the removal of the upper deck and the screens on the oceanside deck. "

from Cleveland Heights, 05/01/2014

"Location was great and the house was fine enough. However, the porches were in awful condition! There was peeling and chipping paint everywhere, floor boards were deteriorating, nails sticking up in some places. They were literally a walking hazard and our party got multiple splinters throughout the course of the week. This was very disappointing, and dangerous for children. Floors inside were also uneven and we tripped over those. If given a choice, would not stay at this specific home again, unless serious repairs are made. "

from Apex, 05/19/2014

"Excellent Beach vacation. Large family(multiple families from New Orleans and Mobile) staying at several different houses on Wrightsville Beach. Clark house was definitely the best of the bunch. It was the chosen gathering place for the group with lis large beachfront deck and great room. Decorated very nicely and beds were very comfortable."

Peggy T. from Wilmington, 06/23/2014

"Kitchen very well stocked. large and spacious home. great location"

from Whitakers, 06/30/2014

"Was great as usual, love the house and the rental management made things easy and convenient"

Bruce T. from Oak ridge, 07/03/2014

"From the moment we entered the delightful 811 S.Lumina cottage, the entire 15 member family was thrilled by the comforts we were met with. This cottage was comfortable, wonderfully appointed for all needs, and perfectly beachy! The only recommendation would be to add an additional step-down to the steps leading to the beach; a few inches too much of a drop making it hard on older adult knees."

Amy B. from Roswell, 07/06/2014

"Great house with a great location. Had issue with leaky toilet dripping into lower bedroom, but maintenance quickly fixed. Lower level a bit musty"

Kathleen C. from Raleigh, 07/14/2014

"This home is BEAUTIFUL. Location, space inside, parking.. we were very happy here. Great vacation home in all aspects.

The only feedback I have is that it was not ready at check in. Having just landed in NC I didn't want to kill an hour with 11 friends waiting to get in. Luke at Intercoastal was very charming and accommodating but despite his efforts we were not able to check in at the time pre-negotiated on our contract."

Allison K. from Atlanta, 08/13/2014

"It was great. Very nicely appointed. Kitchen is small but well appointed with cooking implements Plenty of room for our family and the deck is nice. Will be nicer when the owner completes the deck renovation . The bubble that erupted in the old deck proved to be a trip hazard as we all tripped over it as did our 2 year old but the owner came over and said she'd fix it immediately. Needs lamps in the living room area as it is dark. All our cars were infested with billions of tiny ants when we returned to Charlotte. We and to set ant traps which worked but it was a real problem until we got rid of them."

Judd M. from Charlotte, 08/24/2014

"The house is very comfortable for an extended family. It has a family room with large TV on both the first and second floors which allows the group to spread out when they are indoors. The kitchen is large and modern and there is a large dining room table for group meals The covered deck area has a good view of the ocean and allows relaxed viewing while being in the shade."

Bruce T. from Oak ridge, 06/16/2015

"We were very pleased with this house. It was attractively furnished, had a nice front deck with a view of the ocean and adequately housed our family group of ll.
The beach was wide with life guards on hand; also pleasant next door neighbors."

from Richmond, 07/12/2015

"The Clark is a great cottage-style experience. Except for the ants I really enjoyed the week. The realty company responded quickly to our requests."

from Greensboro, 07/20/2015

"Overall, a great week at Wrightsville Beach"

Kathleen C. from Raleigh, 07/26/2015

"Intracoastal Realty has provided the perfect place for our family. Everything was exactly as described. They were cordial and accommodating and helpful in every way. We were so satisfied with our house and location we are hoping to duplicate our visit to Wrightsville Beach again next year."

Eleanor M. from Chapel Hill, 08/11/2015

"only issue is that i prefer a higher view of the ocean."

from Plano, 08/16/2015

"Great property for a family vacation as long as you aren't put off by the trek to the actual beach. The terrain is very difficult even with a wagon. Not conducive to allowing small children to go back and forth 's surprising since the rest of the property has been so immaculatly taken care of and updated. Also, beware of the ants in the driveway. They infested all our cars.??Wanting to end on a high note,Intracoastal was very responsive and handled the few minor issues very efficiently. Overall, a great stay:)"

David C. from Raleigh, 08/30/2015

"The Clark property is a very comfortable home that has is laid out to allow people to both gather in group activities and have private spaces. The large number of windows makes it a very bright, cheerful environment."

Bruce T. from Oak ridge, 06/20/2016

"Very pleasant stay with sunny weather and No rain!"

from Richmond, 06/26/2016

"This was the third time staying in Clark for my annual vacation with my nieces, nephews, and parents. The house has an amazing location, great deck, enough space for the family to be together yet find private time when needed. My own negative is the beds are really uncomfortable. "

Kathleen C. from Raleigh, 08/01/2016

"Delightful time with my children and grandchildren. Attractive oceanfront house and lovely, wide beach, plus beautiful weather!"

from Richmond, 07/02/2017

"The house is well maintained. The layout of the house is great with good common areas. The open plan results in a very spacious feeling. "

Bruce T. from Oak ridge, 06/17/2018

"We felt very welcomed and at home in the Clark cottage. The kitchen was extremely well-stocked making big family dinners an easy event. Hope to be back next year. "

from Rocky Mount, 06/24/2018

"Very pleasant stay. An old beach house but attractively decorated and furnished with everything needed. Delightful rocking chairs on front deck overlooking the ocean. Nearby life guards and designated swimming areal"

from Richmond, 07/01/2018

"Great place for lots of people. Lots of bedrooms, baths, and parking! Outside deck is great. South end location is preferable, especially for 4th of July week. "

from Louisburg, 07/08/2018

"The property was clean, beds made and towel sets on each bed. Check in and check out procedures were handled electronically and were easy to complete. Cleaning crew had noted some problems with one of the TVs and the crew was there at the beginning of our stay to repair it. House is located on a very quiet part of Wrightsville Beach and is easy to access."

Bruce T. from Oak ridge, 06/16/2019

"We had a delightful time all being together ( My husband, two children and five grandchildren). We love the location and being right on the beach. Were very disappointed that we could not use the master BR shower all week. Also, only one shelf in the downstairs refrigerator and rusty nails on the front deck. Other than that, we had a good time."

from Richmond, 06/30/2019

"The location is perfect, and the beach is nice and big.Generally the inside of the house was comfortable and well decorated. The kitchen faucet was about to fall off, but it worked. As others have noted on previous reviews, much of the decking is in disrepair. There were rusty nails sticking up, some of the front deck was about to fall through, and the different levels on the back deck were a major tripping hazard."

from Metairie, 08/11/2019

"The house was the perfect size with the perfect number of bedrooms. The porch was the highlight for all of us. The part covered and part open made for a pleasant time outside at all times. The kitchen was just the right size and having two refrigerators was awesome. We will come again!"

Donna D. from Chapel Hill, 12/03/2019

"Wonderful beach time with our family, including our new baby and second grandson! The grandchildren and their parents spread out downstairs and the spacious deck became our living space! Quarantining at the beach was so relaxing and we all enjoyed the beautiful view of the ocean, the beach and the water! "

from Rocky Mount, 06/07/2020

"Delightful! Love the new deck - much needed! Weather was excellent but missed the Purple Martins. Plan to come next year.
Please add shelves in downstairs refrigerator!"
