Amazing Grace

Spent a week at Amazing Grave for family vacation. Overall, it was a nice place to stay while enjoying the beach, Wrightsville and Wilmington. Evenings were spent on the upper deck enjoying a great ocean view. The beds were comfortable, but the mattress pads and pillow covers were stained and didn’t appear as clean as they could have been. We called to the office for additional blankets and they were delivered promptly. The appliances, especially the upstairs dishwasher, are in need of some updating. Having said that, the things that truly matter, were in good working order. The air conditioner worked well and cooled nicely on both floors, the hot water heater kept up with showers for 8 adults, and the plumbing all worked well. The addition of a proper outdoor shower would be nice, but the outside hose did help with some sand removal. This home is very functional, but not too fancy and made for a great vacation.

The vacation home was fantastic. So many good things...
Location - right on the beach with beach access 10 steps from the home - couldn’t have asked for better. Bonus points that it was a few streets away from the main public beach access making it quieter. Convenient store, frozen yoghurt and adult beverages just a 2 minute walk away.
The property - great space - large living rooms and well stocked kitchens. Balconies and bedrooms were great too. Would have liked to see a new awning on the deck and some better fixtures in the bathrooms.

Great location and close to the beach. More than adequate room with two
spacious floors, including five bedrooms, two large living rooms, two full kitchens, four full bathrooms, and two large decks facing the beach. The house is a bit “dated” with minor repair issues during our stay. There is also parking for three to five cars.

We love the location but:
1. Some of the drains were plugged
2. The AC on level 2 was not working properly
3. The awning on level 3 was in shreds
4. The gutters leaked
5. The place was not very tidy upon arrival
6. The silverware and pots and pans were not clean and limited

We had a great time! The location was perfect! The house was well maintained and was very comfortable. The view was breathtaking...if we weren't on the beach, we were sitting on the porch. We would DEFINITELY rent Amazing Grace again!

The toilets continually clogged and we had a severe ant problem. All and all it was a good stay. We understand it's rented to college students during off season and my husband felt that was apparent.

This was a great house for a large extended family. The kids and teenagers lived on lower level and adults stayed above. The things we liked most were the upper balcony, where we congregated, and the immediate access to and view of the ocean. The managers were very helpful and responsive to a minor maintenance call and even came over for friendly pre- hurricane advice. The house was generally well maintained, but the garage level storage and shower rooms needed a cleanup. Garage parking space was great for all our cars.

The house had ants, even after an exterminator came. House needs to be updated. Kitchens are not well equipped. TV's in the living rooms did not work well at all. However, the house is in a perfect location.

Bugs are an issue we constantly deal with at the beach, the amount of rain we've been having lately have seen lots of influx into the houses. We fight back in the house when we can, but it doesn't always get the ones coming in from outside since the rain washes it all away. The owner has done several updates since this guest stayed. Amazing grace was located in the perfect spot. There are a few things that were not clean when we arrived but nothing that was a deal breaker, and there is a strong moldy smell on the second level. The main complaint I had was there is not "functioning" outdoor shower which made for a nightmare with all the sand that did not get washed off. The bathrooms all had very slow drains, but I am assuming it is because they are loaded with sand…the outdoor shower would help this issue. I loved working with intercostal and would use them again.

We loved the location of this house...very close to town. We were very disappointed with many things however, from the quality of the bathroom fixtures to the stove with crooked burners in the larger kitchen. It may seem silly but we would have liked a better quality of flatware. A few wine glasses would have been nice too. The deck furniture was also poor and old. What bothered us the most seems silly but we did not have a coffee pot that worked. When we arrived, we discovered that the carafe was cracked. So maintenance replace the entire coffee maker with a off brand that never actually leaked! When we reported this to maintenance, nothing was ever done to correct this deficiency. We, the 5 coffee drinking adults, went out for coffee every day! It's a good thing that the coffee shop was only a 10 minute walk away! but the beach was great and we had good weather overall. My grandchildren had a ball!

Great house for family reunions. I chose this house for the location. Right next to beach access made it easy to carry the children and all their stuff. Great view of the beach. Also good location to the Loop for the joggers in our group and to the stores. The kitchen is not well stocked and the silverware was rusty. Also lock up everything! Our surfboard was stolen out of the unlocked storage closet.

We have stayed in four (4) houses at Wrightsville Beach over the past 15+ years, and Amazing Grace is at the "top of our list!" Our only regret is that our stay could not have been longer.

The location and house setup was perfect for our family of 3 generations. The two living spaces allowed people to work downstairs on their computers while children napped. We loved being on the beach and also being able to walk to stores and restaurants.
The only negative for us was the limited amount of cooking tools and glasses since we ate all our meals at the house. The bedrooms were spacious with lots of drawer space. The full size bed was not the best but that was o.k. The whole vacation surpassed our
expectations. Thanks.

The interior of the house is great. The bathrooms are all updated and the upper floor kitchen is well-equipped. The exterior is in need of TLC. The exterior water pipes had all burst and the carport, stairs and decks had not been swept in many moons.

The house proximity to town and beach access was great! We loved the views and the layout of the house and overall was nice place. However, it needed to be freshened up with paint, carpets cleaned, bath fixtures changed and kitchen accessories were very sparse.

The views are fantastic and the proximity to the night life made this house an amazing spot for a bachelor party or a boys/girls weekend. I think the house should come with towels, that's a basic need. Also, rip that rug up. It's nasty. Put down tile, or anything but a rug.
