Charlotte's Place

The house overall was nice. Plenty of space for a family or a couple couples. Well stocked kitchen, had more than enough towels, and there were beach items from the garage we could use. Location was private with easy beach access. King bed and couches/chairs/outdoor spaces were comfortable! Everything felt good and clean. Pet friendly!! The house itself needs a little care here and there; some water damage, sink clogged. The main door was broken and it wouldn’t latch unless you locked it. They arranged for a maintenance person to come out ASAP so that was nice (even though the problem couldn’t be resolved while we were there-very understandable). The golf carts might need updating, as the battery light came on the 4-seater almost as quickly as it was turned on. But there were small touches I appreciated like water filters so you didn’t drink or bathe in hard beach water. We found the rental company to be responsive and attentive to work with. Checkin and checkout was simple; they shared instructions every step of the way which is helpful. Kind and friendly staff who responded to all my questions before the trip even began. The whole process of renting through them was extremely easy and informative (with a handy renters portal) from beginning to end. Would rent from Intracoastal again!

We loved our stay at Charlotte's Place. The three bedroom set up was perfect for our family of four. The kitchen was well stocked with cookware, utensils, and spices, and the upstairs rooms had plenty of books and games. Easy walk to a quiet beach access, and a short drive to the marina.

We had a great stay. Great Place for a family with older kids with upstairs and downstairs dens. Intercoastal Realty was a pleasure to work with.

Overall the house is great - Pros- was very clean upon arrival - plenty of room for us, love that it’s pet friendly - tons of games which our kids loved!! Large eating area which was nice too. Cons - the oven is very wonky ... took twice as long to cook something , could use a new can opener, and the six seater cart had a bit of a putter and a lag. Minimal cons though overall outstanding rental!

Perfect home for a quick getaway. We enjoyed all of the amenities, the kitchen and the games for the day that it rained. Screened in porches completed the property. Would stay again.

We had a lovely experience. The house is well set up for families- lots of games, toys, etc for kids of all ages. It was very private and very close to West beach so some lovely sunsets, though a bit more humid and buggier than other parts of the island- luckily, we had screened porches! It was close to the ferry, the lighthouse and restaurants and really not too far from anything (nothing is too far on Bald Head). Dog friendly was a huge plus as well!

My husband and I enjoyed staying in this home. Our kids and their friends like the location and the easy access to beach. We would rent this house again if we go back to BHI. I would recommend purchasing extra sauce pan or two for the kitchen. The cleaning crew forgot to clean the staircase/landing to the basement. An outdoor shower would be great addition :) Thank you!

We have stayed at Charlotte’s Place before. The owners listened to the reviews and have cleaned up the landscaping. I think they replaced the loud dishwasher (we only ran it at night so didn’t notice). The stove and oven are finicky but we made it work. We had some issues with the dryer but the rental company was amazing and took our laundry away to dry it for us until the dryer was fixed. The house was well stocked with everything we needed for our stay. Very clean! Charlotte’s Place has so many games and puzzles for something to do on rainy days! We enjoyed our morning walks on the beach by using the nearby beach access. We were able to use the pool everyday at BHI Club but we were unable to get dining reservations the entire week. Even getting take out from them was nearly impossible. We enjoyed our stay anyway and used the grill almost every night to make dinner. We took a kayak tour one afternoon and climbed to the top of Old Baldy. There is so much to do here and we love Bald Head Island!

We enjoyed our stay at Charlotte’s Place. The house was super clean & comfortable. The golf carts were a must & provided lots of fun for us. Well stocked with beach chairs & toys. Only suggestion would be to upgrade the grill. It’s super small & runs on mini gas cans....couldn’t get it warm enough to cook steaks.

Not related to the house - we arrived late & had trouble with the lockbox (wrong code written on our card). Literally no one “could” help us & the answering service had a long wait. It wasn’t the service I expected from Bald Head or the reality company.

The house was a perfect set up for us as we have 2 young children. There were plenty of games, puzzles, and books. The location was great- easy walk to a beach access and quick drive to the marina and shopping. We would stay here again!

It was a good getaway from home---relaxing and yet fun. We rode bikes every day, and we went to the beach every day. The shopping was minimal but fun, and food takeouts and cook-ins were simple. The only problems were as follows: 1. doors were difficult to lock. 2. The dishwasher was noisy. 3. The landscape needs lots of work (especially with regard to weeding). 4. The landscaping lights did not work. Otherwise, our beds were comfortable, and everything else was provided for our comfort and enjoyment. It was great that two golf carts were provided so that my wife and I could drive one and our two adult daughters could drive the other.

We enjoyed a week in this great home! The house was comfortable, quiet, and relaxing. Our kids enjoyed it as much as we did and loved the location. We saw wildlife and enjoyed the location to the beach access. The kitchen was well equipped, the beds are comfortable. We loved having two golf carts and a garage stocked with beach chairs and games.

Our stay at Charlotte’s Place was delightful! We decided last minute to escape to Bald Head island and the rental price for this house was too good to pass up! It was stocked with everything we needed for our vacation. There were plenty of beach toys and supplies. I didn’t find any beach or pool towels. While the house seems to have been renovated at some point, the oven and is old and the dishwasher is very loud. The dryer kept giving us error messages. The home needs some landscaping as well. The weeds have overtaken the flower beds and mulch. The maintenance crew was quick to fix a few issues we had with golf carts and doors keys. The layout of the house is great! I think that Charlotte’s Place just needs some TLC to get her back to her former glory. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay on Bald Head and would rent this home again once she gets some attention.
