Chirico House

Amazing views of the ocean! Private walkway out to the ocean. The sunset from the front porch from the rocking chairs is unforgettable! Spacious house, very clean and the best equipped kitchen. There are more appliances and utensils than we have at home. Every amenity you could ever hope for all on a very private secluded island. To top it all off you ride around in golf carts and bicycles. Truly feels like another world or so to speak one that existed 100 years ago.

Wonderful home in prime location. First floor has ocean views over the dunes. This house with multiple sitting and dining areas and large porches was perfect for our extended family. The private walk-way to the beach is a very nice bonus. We'll be glad to return.

We had a great time at the house. Views and beach proximity were wonderful. The house has a nice layout, but would benefit from a interior update. New paint and furniture and a working ice maker or even better a separate ice maker would really make it a premier property. The folks at intracostal realty were very nice and helpful. Will definitely be back to BHI again!

We had a very good rental experience. We hosted a post-wedding dinner at Chirico which required more than the usual vacation planning. Jennifer Ayers from Intracoastal Realty was EXTRAORDINARY! She was so accommodating, answering all of my questions, providing us with the dimensions of the dining table, meeting my husband and I the month before our rental date to show us the house so we could take pictures for the florist. I would highly recommend Intracoastal Realty's BHI rental division. The views and the wraparound porches on the front, back and sides of the home were spectacular! Our only disappointment was the interior condition of the property. The home is curiously stuffed with furniture making it hard to move around in some of the bedrooms and the two family room areas. Additionally, the house was very dirty and we spent the first day vacuuming the floors and some of the furniture. Chirico needs an interior paint job and some new (and far less) furniture. I would recommend Chirico for a party of 8 or less however at full capacity (15, I think?) it would be very uncomfortable to move around the home.

We had a GREAT vacation with all of our children, their spouses and all of our grandchildren - 14 in total. The Chirico house was perfect - right on the ocean spacious, beautiful, 6 beautiful bedrooms all with on-suites.
The Intracoastal personnel we dealt with were the best. We had particularly good dealings with (our apology if the spellings are wrong) Glasco, Pam, Tquiry, Jennifer & several others whose names we have unfortunately forgotten. Whenever we had a need or an issue Intracoastal had someone to assist immediately - very impressive. Several things could have been better:
1. Cleanliness of the storage room in the garage. It was a mess. Chairs, floats and many other things just thrown in and everything very sandy.
2. Several of the bathrooms had sewer gas smell. Intracoastal was very good about sending folks out quickly to remedy the smell, but in the end there was still an issue.
3. Not enough hangers in the bedrooms.
4. We were disappointed with our inability to use the Bald Head Island club. To their credit they clearly forewarned that dinner reservations were needed a week in advance and pool two days. That said, we were not able to get into the pool despite persistent effort over several days and each time with 2 days notice.
5. Catered dinner from Maritime Market for our 14 person group was excellent and ready on time.

Our home at the beach is what Chirico Zhouse feels like. We utilized the side porch for our corn hole tournaments which we all enjoyed. A second dishwasher would make it ideal!
