Happy Place

The home was perfect for my family of 8 that vacationed at Happy Place. The living room is very cozy with a nice TV, dining room and table were very spacious, and a great kitchen to help feed everyone. Beds were very comfortable and everything was clean. The house has multiple bikes for all of us to ride around the island and the golf carts were in great shape. 10/10! We plan on visiting again :)

As our daughter described the week, our stay at Happy Place on Bald Head may have been our favorite beach week ever! There were seven of us, 3 grandparents, our daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughters , ages 8 and the 13 year-old’s celebrating this significant birthday there!
One grandmother, visiting from Pennsylvania, experienced her first beach week ever and even drove the golf cart! We loved watching for the container ships, being surrounded by green and easy access to the quiet West Beach!
We rode miles on the bikes, the youngest, currently refusing to ride a regular bike, took off on the giant tricycle. Hikes in the forest, kayak and sailing excursions, days on all 3 beaches and just rocking and viewing the sunset from the upper deck for the less adventurous brought many happy hours!

We couldn't ask for a more perfect vacation! The house is just lovely and super clean! The views from the deck were amazing and sitting up there with a book became a favorite spot! The location on the island was great as it was close to everything and super convenient. We'd stay here again in a heartbeat!

My wife and I and our daughter's family (son-in-law and two grandchildren) had a wonderful stay at Happy Place. In fact, as we were leaving, my daughter said "it was a magical week." Happy Place served our needs beautifully. Walking in we had the sense the place was exceptionally clean. Thank you housekeeping! The home's layout also served us well: Owner's suite down and three bedrooms with deck up. We used virtually everything provided... which is a lot! There are a variety of bikes, beach chairs, sand toys for our 6 year-old and 18 month-old grandchildren, a well equipped kitchen, lots of games for the little ones, a beautiful front porch with rockers and a screened-in porch. Overall the home is in excellent condition with a modern kitchen, good beds and furniture appropriate for a beach house. We grew to like the location a great deal. The beach walkable from the house (West Beach) has its own charm and is actually better for the little ones. While not quite as scenic in a typical sense as South or East Beaches, the waves are smaller (so our little ones could approach the ocean with greater safety and confidence) and we had the beach virtually to ourselves. Two golf carts provide access to all the other beaches on the island. West Beach also provides entertaining views of tug boats and large container ships in the distance as well as a beautiful view of the sunset from the upper deck of the house. Finally, we did have one problem. One of the golf carts conked out midway down the island. Apparently our cart had a defective battery. We called Intracoastal Realty on our cellphone and within 10 minutes a small service truck with a replacement golf cart pulled up behind us. Thank you Intracoastal for the quick service. In summary, if our schedules allow, we would definitely rent Happy Place again. The name says it all.
