We've been coming to Wrightsville for 31 yrs. but the skyrocketing prices have made us re-evaluate future plans and we will not be returning next year or the foreseeable future. Price gouging :(

The "Patch" was just right for us.
As noted by other folk, HVAC struggles on top floor on warmest days. People who like temp really cool may not be happy on this floor.

This was our 30th summer at Wrightsville Beach and our 2nd staying at Patch of Paradise. The description is accurate, property clean and maintained and management attentive to the one minor concern we voiced. The location can't be beat; right on the ocean. Already booked for next year!

The location of the property and the layout was excellent. Since it is a two story home, it needs to have separate a/c units. The upstairs never really cooled down and the one unit was insufficient to cool the whole house. Intracoastal wdid not followup on two maintence requests. On Tuesday we called about a drain in the upstairs bathroom flowing to slowly and now one ever came out to fix it. On Friday morning at 7am the tv downstairs went out and even after two phone calls no one ever came out to fix it. These are two items that could be easily fixed and make the property great,

Great place to kick back and enjoy with some old friends. Breeze was phenomenal and even though the AC was on the fritz, the view never dampened the experience! Definitely recommend you experience this slice of Paradise!

There is nothing like watching the waves, surfers, and dolphins right out your window! Sitting on the uncovered deck soaking up the sun, watching sun rise or sunset, or covered deck watching the rain over the ocean. The accommodations had everything we needed. There was plenty of room in the living room for 4 adults. The bedrooms are spacious and beds comfortable. The bathrooms and kitchen could us a bit of updating, but the location and comfort were wonderful! Due to COVID we opted for eating in or take out. We clocked thousands of steps walking the beach, streets, visiting Topsail and Carolina beach, River walk, and Fort. We had a repair issue which Intracoastal was quick to respond to with repairmen. The owner checked in with us the first day to welcome us and to let us know if we needed anything to just give a call. One thing we did miss was a gas grill, we are used to grilling in VT year round. Highly recommend for a winter get away. Temperature ran mostly 40’s January and first half February, then finally got some 50’s and 60’s into first week of March. It was a rainy cold winter for NC this year. Hope you enjoy it as much as we did!

Very nice and relaxing, great seafood, hit the perfect weather pattern as well!
Needed beach gear, or a place to rent, bikes, umbrellas, chairs, maybe a “beach package” included.
We will be returning!

Beautiful views of the ocean and roomy for a family vacation. Loved the layout as it was perfect for our family. The home came well stocked and the walk to the beach was easy peasy. My only con is there is one HVAC unit so it can get pretty hot upstairs. Thankfully the owners provided fans and it helped cool off upstairs some. I recommend and would stay again!

First time in this rental unit (have been going to WB since 1990) and wont be our last. We have already made our reservations for 2021. Great location. Clean and maintained. Keyless entry was wonderful. Plenty of parking. Outside shower very convenient. Our long standing traditions were not possible this year due to covid but plenty of places to get take out from (Poe’s Tavern, Tower 7, Mellow Mushroom, South Beach Grill to name a few). We limited our usual daily trips to WINGS and REDIX but really all you need is right outside your door - THE BEACH!

This is a great rental property. We would definitely rent here again. There are four deck/balconies so you can watch the sunrise and sunset from the house. The bedrooms are spacious. The kitchen is well outfitted. Cabinets and light switches are labelled. The bathrooms could be updated, but this is a beach rental so we understand. There is a hose in the driveway to wash off the salt on your car and beach things as you depart. I suggest the owner install a door to the outdoor shower. It has keyless entry so we went directly to the house and did not have to go to the rental property office. The house is located in a great section of the beach near the Oceanic and convenient for surfers.

This was a perfect house for our family. Very attractive and comfortable decor. Comfy beds. We had everything we needed in the kitchen and throughout the house. The owners pay attention to so many details - from labeling all the light switches to leaving a great selection of books, games, and puzzles. There was plenty of seating, glassware, and cutlery - making it an easy gathering place for our extended family to meet for dinner and games. We loved the string of lights around the balcony (: Location is great for walking to restaurants, coffee shop and Kohl's ice cream. Just perfect!

Two suggestions - a ceiling fan for the main balcony and small rugs inside each balcony door to help us keep your floors clean! Bottom line: the place is GREAT!

We have stayed at this property for the past 4 years and love the location. The newly renovated property is wonderful! This year, however, the property was not cleaned well prior to our arrival. We found cereal spilled on the floor, empty water bottles laying around and, worst of all, hair on the sinks in the bathrooms. It made for a very poor presentation. I don't know if the cleaning staff has changed but, for the amount of money we pay for our week stay, this condition is completely unacceptable. Generally, the staff that manages the property is courteous and helpful, but there should be a check on the property after the cleaning is complete, to ensure is is done well.

Nice home with updated main level. Short walk to the beach. We had SUPs and kayaks delivered to the dock area on the sound side. Only issue was that the upstairs bedrooms can get a little warm at night; left ceiling fans going but still stuffy.

This property can't be beat for the location. The bathrooms and kitchen needed to be updated and the carpet upstairs was horrible.
But the deck had been refinished and was fantastic as was the new tile floors on the main level.
The layout for the bedrooms is great and they are plenty big enough - 2 upstairs and 1 on main level. Also the bedroom furniture is nice.

Nice, Clean property with great beach access and view. We had only one issue which would make the stay more enjoyable...there is no outside shower area. Only a garden hose.

We had a wonderful time at Patch of Paradise. Just 1 toilet issue and hot temps upstairs. Loved the decks and accessibility of water to wash off with after the beach. We had 9 people comfortably accommodated with easy short distance to beach. Thank you for interior decorating, it makes a difference! Ellen Bawiec, Herndon, Va.

If you rent with intention of using dock for boat, the unit comes with slip 2. There are no directions or signs to easily locate slip or dock, and management at Intracoastal could not help. We found dock by asking owners in adjacent duplex. They directed us to dock with a lifted Grady White named Capt. Charley at end. There was a space beyond Grady White on floating dock that accommodated our 22' boat, but is not the slip designated with this unit. We were able to use this slip while there, but was told by dock manager if owner of slip asked I may have to move. Everyone associated with dock was very friendly and we had no issues. Slip 2 however is second to left off ramp beside 20' Mako, which is about maximum size the slip will accommodate. Slip 2 is not rigged with appropriate weights and ropes on pulley's so that you could use even if you wanted to dock there. The set up of slip 2 would require that you either go in bow first or stern, tie off at 2 cleats on floater at either bow or stern, leaving 2 pulleys on pilings to tie off either bow or stern. Again,there are no ropes/weights on these pulleys which you would need to use with rise and fall of tide. Quite frankly the current from tide and wind in Banks Channel would make docking here very challenging. Thankfully everyone associated with dock were exceptionally friendly during our stay, and it was a non issue being tied off at the one spot we could leave our boat tied off safely. Come prepared with extra bumpers as this part of Banks Channel is not no wake and can be very rough from boat traffic.

Another point worth mentioning were televisions. The main tv in living room is adequate. The only other tv in master bedroom is tiny. There should be TV's in all bedrooms and as inexpensive as they are now of decent size.

Finally, book your stay direct through Intracoastal and save yourself a $200 booking fee if you go through Homeaway/VRBO, that is not mentioned anywhere in listing.
