Sunset Shore

For 18 people, our multi-generational family had lots to celebrate, and we had the time of our lives at this remarkable house. What makes this place transcend all others is its ambiance and the high quality of the decor and kitchen, its magnificent views, and great accessibility to the ocean. Being part of the older contingent of our family group, we especially enjoyed getting together on the large east-facing deck. It looks out on the beach and ocean and the comings and goings of families headed for the beach. With the rising sun in the morning, pelicans flying in formation and the evening breezes at dusk, conversations are easy and light and there's lots to look at. We also could not get enough of the large west-facing deck. It overlooks a tidal marsh and its entertaining to watch the wind move through the vibrant green grasses dotted with white egrets and later in the day to watch the setting sun turn the entire western sky ablaze. Any wine you'd consume here simply tastes better. On a personal note due to my limited mobility, the elevator made getting to all four floor easy and I really appreciated the handicapped-accessible shower in our bedroom. To summarize, if you're looking for elegance, fun and togetherness, this is a great place.

My dear friend came to visit from up north. Since Covid kept us apart for 2 1/2 years, we decided to do something right here so we picked Wrightsville Beach. We were in awe at the spectacular accommodations at Sunset Shore! Just what we needed - felt so comfortable being there. Lots to do nearby, but, we always made it back for that spectacular sunset. We will certainly return - maybe we’ll bring the families. This place was not lacking for anything. We had waffles on the patio (I made them!) Thank you for the best!

Our extended family rented this beach house together and had an incredible week. The house surpassed our expectations. It is large, comfortable and beautiful, with views from every room in the house. It is located in an amazing spot- right across the street from the beach and on the marsh. It made it extremely easy to go back and forth to the beach whenever anyone wanted to (the house is steps away) and we ate dinner every evening on the huge deck facing the marsh so we could watch the incredible sunset. There are numerous decks facing both the beach and the marsh. The rooms are extremely comfortable and each has its own bathroom. Everyone could hang out in the main living space (it was large enough to hold everyone comfortably) but there were plenty of decks and other spaces to find if you wanted to be alone. The kids found spaces to play- shuffleboard, the pool, the loft space, so they were happy and occupied. The kitchen is open and airy and has whatever you need to cook. We loved the house and definitely want to go back!

My family and extended family met up for a big family reunion the last week of June. We had an incredible time. The house was great for a large gathering. It was so easy to walk across the street to go to the beach and run home if we needed to grab a bite to eat only to run back to the beach. We had some young kids with us who were able to run back and forth with ease. One of the most special things about the house is the wetlands off the back of it. We got amazing sunsets and spent wonderful times chatting on the outside decks. Each room has great views and outside access. We hope to go again next year.
